TLDR : Answer Summary
When house sitting for two months in Thailand, you technically need to fill out a TM30 form. However, there may be ways to avoid it if you don't inform anyone and do not require a visa extension. If you're on a 30-day visa exemption and plan to extend for another 30 days, it’s advised to check local enforcement of this rule at your immigration office.

i guess it all comes down to a few points:
By law yes, you have to do this
If it is enforced at your local Immigration Office you only know if you visit them and ask
If you do not do it and it was enforced, you pay the fine
Choice is yours,

Technically yes. Though you might get away with it.
