How many nights do you usually book a hotel in the country where you apply for the Thai DTV (e.g., Vietnam)? Is 7 nights enough or do embassies expect a longer stay?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a Thai DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in a foreign country like Vietnam, it's advisable to book at least 1 to 2 weeks (7-14 nights) in advance. Experiences from others suggest that while some received their approvals in under a week, others had to wait longer due to document requests or holidays, making a longer stay beneficial to avoid last-minute stress. It's recommended to check the specific processing times on the Thai Embassy's website and consider booking accommodations that allow for extensions or cancellations.
I would look at the website of the Thai Embassy in the country to visit,
Check how many days it takes to get a DTV issued, double that time just in case you did not prepare 100% and additional documents or interviews are planned.
Book a place where you can extend or cancel booked days in case it all goes different than the experience of others,
We went to Hanoi for my husband's application. We originally booked 10 days but due to 1 Thai holiday during the application process, it had to be extended to 14 before he got approval.
Its entirely dependent on the quality of your application if you meet the criteria you might get a decision in 5-7 working days up up to 10-15 days if they want more information etc whatever you fo make sure you stay in the Country you apply from. Ideally do it in your home country if its easier the costs would be much lower GL
I booked 1 week and as I extended another week it was approved on the day but I just stayed the extra time and did some sight seeing. That was in Hanoi
I would do 2 weeks to be on the safe side. My husband and I went to Vietnam for 3 weeks and he got his a little over a week and then I did mine and I did not get it until the day we were leaving. I thought we were going to have to push our trip out. Give yourself more time so you don't have to stress at the last minute.
