How should I book my travel arrangements while applying for the DTV visa in Thailand?

Currently in America applying for the remote work DTV. (Los Angeles embassy)

Going through the online form now and they are asking for information about the trip.

This is tricky because it depends on whether or not the visa is approved.

I plan to book everything so that it is refundable if not approved.

My question is how long should I book my accommodations for and when should I book my exit flight?

Should it be more than 60 days? I am just wondering because if I show I only plan on staying for 1 or 2 weeks they might wonder why a DTV is even needed.

It’s hard to know my actual travel plans until I know if the visa is approved or not.

Booking 2+ months and then getting a refund if I’m not approved feels unfair to the hotel so I don’t really want to do that.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for a remote work DTV visa from Los Angeles and is uncertain about booking travel plans, as it depends on visa approval. They want to know how long to book accommodations and when to schedule their exit flight. Responses suggest that they include intended travel dates without needing to show proof of bookings, and that they could provide a hotel address without actual reservations.

It is indeed tricky if you do not understand what INTENDED means.

1. have (a course of action) as one's purpose or objective; plan.

well the last time I entered the country I was sent to secondary. They called my hotel and airline to confirm that I was staying where I said and that I had a real exit flight booked.

I’m pretty sure if I didn’t have a real flight would have been denied.

Better to have your “intentions” actually backed up with real flights and hotels if they ask.

Anonymous participant is the point of this group to insult people’s intelligence or help them with getting a visa?

They obviously ask the question for a reason or it wouldn’t be in the form. So it’s reasonable to assume what you put there matters.

Do I think anyone will actually check? No. But in the unlikely event they do when your story adds up and is backed up with real bookings it looks pretty good.

You are Anonymous, I guess that is because you do not understand the difference in application for a visa BEFORE you travel and actual arriving with that visa in Thailand.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has different rules and regulations than the Royal Thai Police Immigration Bureau.

"Intended or proposed" dates of travel and accommodation. You are not bound by any of these, nor do you need to show proof unless requested.

Just put the travel plans you have in place already; most important is the 500,000 baht equivalent seasoned for few months and the details of the business activity and the structure of the business.

Are they asking for proof of tickets purchased and accommodations booked? Or are they asking for general info? When I applied through the Los Angeles office, I gave them info for the flight I was intending to take once approved and the hotel I was planning to stay in for a few days until I got longer-term accommodations sorted out. Because there was no way I was going to pay for thise things until I was certain I was approved. BTW, I got approved about 45 minutes after I submitted my application for the soft power category (cooking classes).

A. Nony Mous they are just asking in general. But my last time entering the IO actually called my airline and hotel to confirm.

It seems based on everyone’s response the length of time is not important. Although, I did read some people having issues putting to short of time for soft power. That would make sense if you are taking a 6 month course and only staying 2 weeks.

You do not have to book anything

Just put in a hotel address and phone number.. and you do not need to show proof of anything .... Other than bank statements for 3 months of
*****
0 baht and something showing that you are in the country right now ... and a letter from the school showing you have signed up . If you are doing soft power

You have to show anything they ask for, but normally an intended flight number is enough.

Some embassies like London often ask for flighttickets and some other embassies like KL ask pfore proof of accomodation.

So the best is just to ask embassy you apply.
