I’m curious how long the process is taking people to get approved for their DTV visa? I’m in America and I’m a self-employed digital nomad. I appreciate your input

TLDR : Answer Summary
The processing time for the DTV visa varies significantly depending on the embassy or consulate. Some users report quick approvals within days, such as 2 hours to 5 days. Others experienced longer wait times, up to 3-1/2 weeks. It's recommended to check the specific processing times published on the embassy's website where you plan to apply.
Received my remote worker DTV 2 hours after uploading my application to the e-Visa site. I used the Vancouver consulate in Canada. That was July 31st. Wife received her spousal DTV based off mine the next day.
APPLIED on line to the Thai Embassy in D. C. Dec. 30. APPROVED today, Jan. 3.
Received a Soft DTV using classes from Discover Thai Nature discoverthainature.com
(Classes cost 10,000+ baht, but look really interesting. Owner sent required receipt and registration within 15 minutes of signing up and paying for the class.)
That’s pretty quick! I sent all the exact same information except I’m going the digital nomad route so I sent in my businesses LLC registration. Also just sent in a driver’s license as proof of where I am now. Hoping for a quick turnaround as my trip is in three weeks🩵🇹🇭🙏🙏
took me 4 or 5 days in july/august in germany… recent posts here look like 15-20 business days for the same embassy… i would guess holiday season plays a big role

Just had a friend get his approval out of Wash DC. Was 3-
that’s just about my timeframe. I’d hate to have to change my flight and other plans. From what I hear, it’s not a good idea to go to Thailand before you get your DTV approved. There may be issues leaving and coming back to activate it ?? 🤷♂️
Obviously anything is possible but I have not seen anyone who likes in the US and has their application "Pending" being asked for more info after the first week. Myself and my 2 friends were both asked for additional documents within 72 hours of initial filing and once went to pending approval, never heard anything else except the DTV was approved. Of course there is always that possibility but you will probably be ok. I don't think I would try that in Vietnam or Laos or Cambodia. Very unpredictable there from what has been posted. Good luck!
that’s pretty quick brother. It seems to depend on where people are applying from and what documents they’re sending in and definitely over the holidays slowed others down.

Each embassy and consulate has their own processing time and they have their estimated time published on their webpages. Some take months for approval, other 5 days. I advise you to check for the processing time at the embassy or consulate serving your area of US (if that is where you plan to apply).
