Is two weeks enough time to process my visa application for Thailand?

I submitted my DTV application yesterday and put my arrival date in Thailand as 25/10/24 because my doctors appointment slip is for 1/11/24.

That only allows 2 weeks between my lodgement and when I say I'm intending to arrive in Thailand.

Is that enough time? Very confident I've provided all documents to approve it but you never know of course.

Canberra Embassy in Australia.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has submitted a DTV visa application to the Canberra Embassy for arrival in Thailand on 25/10/2024, just two weeks after submission. They express concern about the short timeframe despite having all necessary documents. Comments from the community raise concerns about the short notice for visa issuance, sharing personal experiences with processing times and suggesting that it might still be fine. Tips on whether notification of approval is via email or through personal checks on the portal are also discussed.

Hi Lance, I've sent you a PM to ask a few questions about this , thanks

unless Canberra have recently gotten much busier, you should be fine. Mine took 8 days. Some other folks here got theirs within a week.

do they email you when it's approved or are you meant to just keep logging into the portal and checking?

@Lance *****
they'll email you, with the pdf attached. You can always log in and keep an eye on the application, but in my case, it only moved along 1 step after a week, then the next morning I received the email. You can also log in any time afterward, if you need to download the pdf again.

hahaha I feel like it's impossible not to. When you're that excited to move to Thailand just to be like blah I'll sit back and wait lol. I applied 10am on Friday so hopefully that counts as an extra business day. I'm clutching at any straws at this point πŸ˜‚

yeah I reckon it'll only be a week or so based on other experiences so I'm not too stressed. If I only had a week then different story lol

Was flightdate a eequired field ?

Some Embassies, proces applications by arrival date, and not application date, and you don’t get the visa until the last week before departure.

Yeah it asks for flight number and date of arrival.

Your travel data are not really important... that are just "intended" plans. I worry more about that you gave your Embassy just 14 days... good luck with that... πŸ™„πŸ€”

If the dates I put don't matter then it doesn't matter anymore if they take over 10 business days

@Lance *****
So your flight and appointment aren't real dates?

my hard copy appointment slip from the hospital has the date of
****
and that's real, flight date isn't real it was just an estimate, but I just changed my appointment today it to
*****
and my real flight date is
*****
but I've lodged it so I can't change it now. I guess we'll see. What's the worst that can happen. From what I can see most people are having their approvals in 1 week or less so let's see if I'm one of those (since I don't think I'll need to provide further docs)

@Lance *****
Not a big problem anyway... you can travel before you get your DTV and use the visa exempt first. After that you just need to do a border bounce to activate the DTV.

Hope you get it soon. Actually they need more time. Mine is 5th November 2024 and my application submission was 20th September in person.

My approval took a day as soft power medical treatment. I did it in person. Wishing you get it faster as your plan. Good luck mate.
