Mine was 18 working days… I called the main branch on the 18th day. They called the branch that I opened up at in Hua Hin and they told me that a six month lease was not good enough, even though that was my second lease the first one being one year next one being only six months because I wanna upgrade and move into a bigger home after the six months… so I had my landlord make a new lease of one year. I submitted to Bangkok bank the next day and they open up my account in one hour…
Supplied my paperwork & photocopies on 28th August. I was originally told their ‘head office’ would receive this, review it and un-freeze the account within 7 days. So far nothing. Went back in my branch last Thursday (18th Sept) and saw the same employee. I was told to wait another week or two, as their head office was very busy! So, currently frozen for 24 days and counting! 😔
Definitely go back in and check on the status. They may require other documents, but they are not going to call you. I called the bank after 2 weeks of no response, and they requested a “resident of certificate.” Without calling them or visiting, it might be a long time before it’s resolved.
Update for me, I went into a branch in Bangkok (home branch is in Koh Samui). The lady called the Samui branch and was told they will unlock it tomorrow.
Go back to the bank. They wont contact you. I went in after 4 weeks . They asked me for my home bank info again and it was unlocked 5 minutes later. If you haven't gotten a second or third bank account in thailand go and do that
its all about frozen accounts nothing to do about the suspended app which is/was another issue back in july but where you still could withdraw with ATM. If account is frozen, you cannot do anything, no deposit no withdrawal
