TLDR : Answer Summary
The post asks for recommendations for an agent to open a Kasikorn bank account in Bangkok on a DTV visa. Community responses indicate that it may not be necessary to use an agent, especially if choosing Bangkok Bank, which has been reported to be open to account openings for those with a DTV visa. Several commenters share their own experiences of successfully opening accounts, suggesting that having the correct documentation might be sufficient.

That strange as I have friend opening bank accounts with Bangkok bank on tourist visas, in fairness not very recently

You have visa, no agent needed, and Bangkok bank usually more open to us

the banks don't let you open a bank account on DTV. Trust me, I've tried. I've been on the phone with the SCB head office while sitting at the Central Pattaya branch and they refuse to budge on the work permit-rule.

Thai banking is designed for the opposite of user friendliness.

If you're okay with Bangkok Bank try the HQ... there's a big chance they'll let you open an account without using an agent.

if you have medical issues get a medical certificate about long term treatment and you can open account without agent on DTV. Just go to a branch close to a hospital.

They have a clause for medical. Otherwise its very very difficult on DTV in Bangkok.

I was quoted 20K baht with agent in Bangkok lol. Did myself for free with medical certificate. And got yes at first branch i tried. This was about a month ago

Much easier and cheaper with agent on Pattaya, but that’s not practical if living in Bangkok.

This is Bangkok Bank though, why you specifically want Kasikorn?

That's interesting! How can I get a medical certificate, just ask at a clinic (it's not a hospital) that I'm visting? I want to try this

I heard Kasikorn is better although I heard good things about Bangkok bank too.

I've been to 5 banks on my own so far but got no luck. But manager in one Bangkok bank said they are working on changing internal policies to accept DTV visas so my logic was that if I pay for agent it should be for a more strict bank like Kasikorn as its likely that I'll be able to open the Bangkok bank account later myself.

at bankok bank they are looking for treatment above 3 months. I specifically went to a neurologist and said I wanted treatment for an existing nerve damage I have. They provided the medical certificate. This was at a hospital, but cost me 1500 baht.

I am under actual treatment though
