ORIGINAL POSTER
I will be applying for my 1st 1-year Retirement visa on 6 Jan in Chiang Mai. I will have all necessary documentation and 800K seasoned for 2 months. I was planning on going to Koh Phanang on 10th.. Can I expect the visa the same day or is there a 'under consideration" time period. Just thought of this as I was teady to book flights.

Thanks for any helpful replies

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among respondents is that if you are applying for the one-year extension of your Non-O retirement visa and all your documents are in order, you may receive your visa on the same day or the next day. However, if you are applying for the initial Non-O visa from a tourist or exempt stamp, there may be an 'under consideration' period, as processing might need to be sent to the headquarters for approval.

Issued day you apply if all in order.

You won’t be doing it on Jan 6 it’s a Saturday

If you are meaning you’re applying for the initial Non O visa off a tourist or exempt stamp then there generally is an under consideration period as that office may not have the “authority” to sign off on such a visa and has to send to their HQ to process.

If you already have that and are actually going for your one year extension off of the Non O then usually you’ll get it same day or next day (so the head of the office can sign off on it).

I assume you already have the 90 day Non-O retirement visa and this will be your first 12 months extension? If so they are normally issued on the day you apply.
