TLDR : Answer Summary
After arriving in Thailand on a 3-month Non-Immigrant O visa as the spouse of a Thai national, you have the option to visit the local Thai Immigration office to inquire about the requirements for a one-year extension of stay. Additionally, if you need more time to prepare the necessary funds (such as a deposit of 400,000 Thai baht in a Thai bank account), you can apply for a one-time family visit extension of 60 days.
The officers told us to take the covid extension first and return for the 60 day spouse, or skip the 60 spouse and do the Non-O next. They required 15 days+ on the visas for approval time
you are not correct. The COVID extension is a total of 60 days...given UNDER CONSIDERATION stamp for first 30 days and return as instructed for the other 30 days.
And its not wise to mix COVID extensions with a Non Immigrant visa. As you may have to leave the country and start all over again with a new Non O visa.
i did what the officers told me just two days ago. I asked for the spouse 60 day and they told me first take the covid extension and wrote on the application approving 60 days, so whatever bro
Thanks Very much James, I appreciate the information. Been in blighty a long time now, waiting for my house to be sold. Hope to be back soon. Thanks again.
Take your Thai wife with you and visit your local Thai Immigration office...ask for their list of requirements for the one year extension of stay.
If you need added time to arrange for the required deposit of 400,000 Thai baht in a Thai bank account in your name only...you can obtain a one time family visit extension of 60 days.
