I have a Canadia passport and leaving Tanzania in December for Bangkok. Tanzania has no Thai embassy. I want to stay 3 months. Already booked flights to Bangkok from Tanzania. I believe I need proof of tickets leaving Thailand.
Does anyone know what my visa stamp for tourist visa will state for duration. I don’t know if its 3 months on entering Thailand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Canadian passport holder traveling to Thailand can enter the country without a visa and will receive a 30-day entry stamp. For a total stay of 3 months, the traveler would need to leave the country and return to obtain a new entry stamp, or they could apply for a 30-day extension of their initial entry. The traveler should also have proof of onward travel, as it's often required upon entry.
If you travel to Thailand without any visa, you'll receive visa exempt, which is a 30 day entry stamp. You can also apply one time for a 30 day extension. If you want to stay 90 days you'll need to leave and re-enter the country to get a new entry stamp.
We think we will book flights out of Thailand to Vietnam for a week or two. This would mean that those flights are past the entry visa of 30 days but before the extension of 30 days.
Do you know that is a problem considering technically if I get asked to see tickets leaving Thailand they’ll be past 30 days?
You'd be better going Vietnam before your initial 30 day stamp is up then return and get an extension on your second entry stamp. You'd then have an exit flight within 30 days.
we want to figure out how to get 90 days in Thailand. I think every entry to Thailand is only 30 days. But I’m thinking if I get an extension of 30 days on my first entry then I can change the flights to 30 days later? If that makes sense
the only people who might ask to see a ticket out is your airline so ask them their policy. If they want to see a ticket out of Thailand it'll usually need to be within 30 days since that's the stamp you'll receive.
