TLDR : Answer Summary
You and your husband can initially enter Thailand under the 30-day visa exemption policy for Canadian passport holders. You can extend your stay by applying for a 30-day extension at a local immigration office, which costs 1900 baht. Therefore, it is possible to stay for a total of 60 days without needing to leave the country, as suggested in the comments.

Yes.

Or go to Immigration, pay 1900 baht and get 30 days more,

You won’t need to exit and come back. Your 30

Day visa exemption when you arrive (assuming Canadian passports) is extendable by another 30 days at any immigration office in Thailand for 1900 baht each. Enjoy

(There is more weed shop in phuket that there is fishing shop )

Weed and alcool = fight

Weed and alcool = accidents

Tourism area = scam

Most of people on earth want easy money ...

Think to that if you re a farang you always be scared!

it must be you, I live here and I've never felt unsafe in Phuket even in the early hours of the morning, it's the same in any country, just keep your witts about you, don't do anything stupid to attract attention to yourself.

not luck at all. I've never felt unsafe there. People are lovely, helpful, kind and welcoming. Never been ripped off or cheated. I guess you've been hanging out in some dodgy places.

Do it on line or local embassy. Or leave to a bordering country's and come back

You had time to plan a 60 day trip but not time to apply for a visa?

You need to check with your airline to see if they require proof of leaving Thailand within 30 days if you are traveling without a visa. If they require that, they won't let you board your flight unless you can show them a ticket out of Thailand within 30 days of your arrival.

Once you're in Thailand you can apply one time for a 30 day extension at your local immigration office, giving you 60 days total.

The day you arrive is counted as day 1.
