Hi, i am enquiring obo my son. He will be doing visa run to Cambodia on 7th Sep. He needs to cancel his current ED visa before he does the visa run. He will be going to immigration on Monday, 5th. There will be a 2 day delay before he does visa run. How do you get around this? Will immigration cancel visa effective Monday 5th and he must leave country or do they at least give you a few days to leave and if so is there a cost involved?

Why doesn't he take a paper from the school saying his last day is the 7th of Sept. In Bangkok you can cancel an extension up to 2 weeks before the paperwork says the last day is and they stamp you in until that date.

So either get the school to write the end of study paper saying it's the 7th OR if they cancel it effective the day he shows up (the 5th) he could get an application for extension denied 7 day stamp to get out of thailand in a week for 1900baht.

the termination date from school is 12th and he went to immigration last week because his extension of stay expired last week and they extended stay in line with cancellation letter from school. Immigration officer said he must come back to cancel because if they cancelled that day it would immediately effective. He then paid fee to extend until 12th.
