What should I do about my education visa before leaving Thailand on October 26?

Because I donโ€™t completely trust what our school told usโ€ฆ I want to ask here to be sure. We are on education visas. Our final stamp says until October 26. I asked the school if there was anything we needed to do before we leave. (Just from seeing that information floating around here over time.) They said, no. We just leave. But that doesnโ€™t seem correct. We will be leaving and coming back, so I want to make sure we do this correctly. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on the process for exiting Thailand with an education visa that expires on October 26. They expressed concern about whether they need to perform any actions before leaving, given that the school's advice seemed insufficient. Comments suggest that the user must cancel their visa extension at an immigration office before departure, providing necessary documentation from the school to finalize this process.

Always good that people ask to be sure, but every 90 days you went with the school to Immigration and signed the STM2 form, see example.

Show this to the school and maybe they will ask Immigration to understand what it means to inform Immigration when the reason for the stamp change. a Change is ending education in your case.

I recently did the visa cancellation of my ED visa before leaving Thailand (apparently this is the correct way). It took about 3 hours at main Chiangmai immigration and I needed a letter from the school as well as copies of passport page, all stamps, all 90 day reports and TM30.

You say "๐—ข๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—น ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฝ ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐˜†๐˜€ ๐˜‚๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ๐—น ๐—ข๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฒ" <- this leads me to believe that your current (and final) stamp also says "extension of stay permitted until" and has that Oct 26th date?

If that's the case, no matter what the school says you DO need to cancel that ED visa extension BEFORE you exit the country. (in fact some borders won't even let you stamp OUT on an 'open' ED extension)

Get documentation from your school stating you stop studying on the 26th of Oct, GO to the immigration office where you got that extension about a week before that date. They should cancel the extension and give you a new stamp allowing you to stay until the 26th. Then you can just stamp out

Youโ€™re the absolute best! I pay attention on here. And when I asked them if I needed to. I knew something was very fishy. ๐Ÿ™„

I had to request a brand new passport for my husband. He ran out of pages. It will probably arrive the same time I have to do this. And we have to get his stamps transferred over to his new passport, that Iโ€™m sure of. ๐Ÿ˜… Thank you for the confirmation. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ
