Does my friend need to cancel his Ed visa at Immigration or do a border run before it expires?
Dear all, my friend is on the initial 90 days Ed visa (Thai course) and will end on Jan. 30. He does not want to do an ed visa extension. Does he need to get it cancelled at the Immigration? Or should he do a border run to have it cancelled? His language center is in Nonthaburi but he is residing in Bangkok, if this matters.

The user seeks advice regarding the cancellation of a Thai educational visa (Ed visa) for a friend whose visa is set to expire soon. The consensus in the comments suggests that the friend can simply perform a border run to obtain a new 30-day visa exempt entry, without the need to cancel the Ed visa at Immigration.

Suggest your friend contact a local border run service company to take them to the Thai border, cross and re-enter same day to get a NEW 30 day Visa Exempt Entry.

As he is on the initial VISA he will have no problem just doing a border bounce/run.
