Good afternoon.

I'm in Chiang Mai on non immigrant O visa one year retirement.

My wife has a non immigrant O - ED Visa that will expire at the end of October after 3 months.

She is not going to renew it because she is changing school

The new school has the documents ready for her and we made the appointment in Vientiane to ask for a new one. She's flying on the 14th of October

Does she need a document from the former school to cancel the visa? Can she cancel the visa at the airport immigration when boarding the plane, as immigration offices are closed that day?

And what date should this document mention? I couldn't find anything clear about an ED visa cancellation and the delay to leave the Thai territory after cancellation.

Thank you so much for your answers.

They are inquiring about the necessary steps to cancel the O-ED Visa before switching schools, including whether a document from the former school is required, and how to proceed with the cancellation at the airport, especially since immigration offices will be closed on her departure day. Hi everyone.

Just to keep you updated about my wife new ED visa from Vientiane.

She gave all necessary documents the first day and when she came back the day after she was interrogated by 2 different Thai people based on the fact her demand is not usual. She told me that many people were interrogated that day and some didn't get their visa.

I guess it was her lucky day because she finally got the visa around 16h15.

Thanks for everyone help.

Go to a different thai consulate and apply for an ED visa there.

she is not gonna get a new ED visa from the thai consulate in Vientiane (even switching schools) because you can only get one ED visa from them in a running year <- a year from the date you got the previous ED visa
