TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether they should cancel their education visa before departing Thailand for Spain, given that their visa expires on October 30 and their flight is on October 15. The comments indicate that if the user is on a visa extension and plans to return to Thailand, they should cancel their extension at the immigration office, ideally with a letter from their school. Leaving without cancellation can lead to complications with future visa applications.

cancel your extension BEFORE you go with a letter from your school stating you are stopping studying on the 15th.

You have an extension of stay, this one should be cancelled before you leave

No, always better to cancel the extension at the immigration. Leaving won't cancel it and you will have an open extension that will prevent you from getting another one in the future. Even if you start brand new. As Tod says, always close the loop.

The real question IS

Are you on the 90 day stamp from the VISA or are you on an 'extension of stay' stamp? Look in your passport and read the stamp.

IF you're on an extension and you ever intend to come back to thailand and stay any length of time again YES, get a letter from your school saying you stop studying on the 15th, go to the immigration office about a week before that and they will cancel your ED extension and stamp you in until the 15th. Then you just stamp out

BUT

If you're never comin' back here or work, or study you can just leave.
