TLDR : Answer Summary
A single re-entry permit remains valid as long as the stamp in your passport is valid. You can be outside of Thailand until the expiration date of the re-entry permit; however, it does not extend the duration of stay associated with your visa. Additionally, if applying for a re-entry permit at the airport, no other forms, such as a TM-30, are required.

I want to piggy back on this question if possible. If I apply at the airport for a re-entry permit I will not need another form correct? (Like a TM-30 or something else). Thanks

the airports (at least the 2 in bangkok) will charge 200baht more and you don't need the form, don't need a photo, don't need anything

as Guy said, single re-entry is 1200 and multiple is 4000 🙂

you will need your passport and 1,000฿ (single re-entry) + 200฿ processing fee.

ALL re-entry permits (single or multiple) are valid as long as the current stamp in your passport is valid for.

You can be out of thailand until the day the re-entry permit expires then you lose what ever stamp you had that you got the re-entry permit for.

Remember a re-entry permit doesn't ADD any days to your current stamp, it only lets you leave/come back and still get stamped in until that date..
