How do I transfer a Non-O visa from an old passport to a new one in Thailand?

Hello everyone. I have a year-long non-O in my old passport, which has all pages filled up and I now have a new passport. Is there a process required to officialize/transfer the non-O stamp? Or do I just carry both the old and new passports?

My old non-O stamp has only 2 months validity left, so would it be easier if I just applied for a new non-O instead?

Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about transferring a non-O visa from an old passport to a new one, as their old passport is filled and the visa has only two months of validity left. Commenters clarified that since the user has an extension of stay in their current passport, they cannot simply carry both passports but must officially transfer the extension and any re-entry permits to the new passport at the respective immigration office.

Okay we sussed out that M Lee actually does have a yearly extension of stay in their current passport which means they CANNOT simply travel with both passports (like people with valid multi-entry VISAS can)

They need to go to the immigration office that issued the extension and get the extension and any valid re-entry permits moved to the new passport before traveling.

Do you have a VISA (obtained outside Thailand), or an extension of stay (obtained inside Thailand)?

Ah that is different, you should do the transfer now, before you start travelling outside the country

Go to your local immigration office, where you filed your latest TM30

Thanks for this. So I should go to the immigration office where people get their visas and get the transfer to be done? Can that be done by proxy, or can I get an appointment?

Thanks a lot for this advice. I'm leaving the country multiple times before when I'm due to renew my extension of stay, I assume I'll just keep carrying both passports. Please kindly correct me if this is wrong.

NO you can't carry BOTH passports if you're on an extension.

GO get the stamps MOVED to the new passport

Wait until you are due renewal of your extension of stay, then take both passports with you and immigration will transfer details from the old to the new passport and put your new extension in your new passport.
