How do I transfer my Thai Non-O visa extension to a new passport while in the UK?

I currently hold a uk passport with a non-o one year multiple entry extension based on marriage.

I'll be going back to the uk for August and September and am down to one page almost in my passport (which doesn't actually expire until 2025).

I'm assuming I'm best to get a new passport whilst in the uk but not quite sure how that works with transferring my visa extension over. Any advice much appreciated! Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, holding a UK passport with a one-year Non-O multiple entry extension based on marriage, seeks advice on how to transfer their visa extension to a new passport while returning to the UK. Community responses suggest applying for a new passport, ensuring that the extension stamp is intact when submitted, and informing the passport office about the valid visa. Upon returning to Thailand, the user will need to present both the old and new passports, allowing for a seamless transfer of the extended stay visa.

Yeah bit annoying, it was a trainee immigration officer with another immigration officer. I saw them both make a face at something but they didn't tell me and I only realised after I'd gone through.... no problems when I came back in tho!

Definite a good reason for a new passport.

Ah got it round the wrong way... the rip is through the corner of the re-entry permit, the extension of stay is intact on a separate page...

Don't think this will be a big problem, otherwise use it as the excuse for the new passport. I do hope you have next to your Extension of Stay a re-entry permit, so that page should be in tact also.

One other little question actually....

I recently had to go out of Thailand and when I left the immigration officer accidentally ripped my passport page a little bit when pulling off the departure card. The rip is through a bit of my extension stamp but is still attached. Do you know if that is likely to cause any problems?

Ok great thanks!

You apply for a new passport, when handing in your current passport tell them that the page with the valid Visa or the Extension of Stay must stay in tact. On return to Thailand you show both passports, if you're using a visa you keep doing this till visa runs out, or if this is an Extension of Stay they will transfer your Extension to your new passport.
