Hi Guys...

I have recently received my New UK passport as my old one was full.

So I need to transfer stamps to my new passport.

I have a Non O muli entry marriage from Savanakhet in Laos. Which is valid until June 12 th as that is the time I have to leave Thailand. The plan is to reapply for a new Non O in Savanakhet, Laos.

So off I went to Immigration in Changwattana.

They have an issue with transferring my details to my new passport. I have all the documents and filled in the form etc.

Instead of going to the J section to transfer they insist on sending me to L section to renew my visa...I do not want that...only transfer.

They appear to have lost the communication skills....

If I go to a land border with both passports can I cross into Laos or do I need this transfer here ?

Sorry it is a bit long...help would be appreciated ??

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing difficulties transferring their Non O multi-entry visa details to their new UK passport at Thai immigration. They have all the necessary documents but are being sent to a different section for a visa renewal instead. Users in the comments confirm that it's possible to handle the visa transfer at the border in Laos, especially in Savanakhet. They suggest using both passports when crossing and clarifying that the visa itself isn't transferred, only the entry stamps.

You can do it at the border in Laos. Thai immigration will stop u on the friendship bridge and send you over to another building to do it. They even gave me a bicycle to cycle over to the building ha. It was free of charge but get there early as u need to be in savannakhet before 11am to apply for your visa.

Don't forget if your year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa is valid until June 12 <- meaning that is the "enter before" date on the VISA you can bounce out just before then and get another 90 day stamp <- which takes you to 15 months of stay on that visa ;)

correct (y) just take BOTH passports when you go to border bounce or stamp out of the country and they'll move the stamps and note you got a new passport when you leave.

They do not transfer VISAS to a new passport :/ All they would have done was transfer your current entry stamp.

You just use BOTH passports when you do your 90 day border bounces until the visa in the old passport is expired. They will stamp you in and out on the new passport.

Once you're done using the visa in the old passport you can get a new visa in the new one.
