Hello, I recently entered Thailand with a new passport. Is it necessary for me to have my current non-B visa transferred to my new passport, before my visa extension?

Is it possible to just have me extension placed in the new passport, as I will not be travelling before then?

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about transferring their non-B visa to a new passport before applying for a visa extension in Thailand. Comments indicate that while visas cannot be transferred, it is essential to transfer entry stamps to the new passport. It is advisable to handle the transfer immediately after obtaining a new passport, and it's possible to do so concurrently with the visa extension application.

If you have an actual visa, you cannot transfer a visa. Still, you need to transfer your current entry stamp before you apply for an extension.

If you are on extension, you have to transfer stamps to your new passport.

Now if you can do it at the same time as your next extension or not? It's possible.

But you are supposed to transfer your stamps to a new one immediately after you get your new passport. If the immigration officer thinks you take too long to do, be ready to be grilled about that.
