Just wanted to let anyone interested know that I got a Non-Imm O multi-entry visa based on marriage with ease in HCMC. I provided letter from wife, she was not present, copy of marriage certificate, the one with rose borders, copy of wife’s Thai ID, front and back and copy of her house book, first page and her details page. She signed all docs pertaining to her. For good measure I also gave and was accepted, a copy of her passport, our child’s birth certificate and a copy of my lease. No financial docs given or asked for. Submitted Wednesday picked up Thursday afternoon.

I chose HCMC over Savannakhet due to ease of getting here, more flight options, and taking a little holiday.

Was the wife's letter handwritten or typed up in Thai and signed?

Excellent, congratulations. I have a few questions (hope I'm not prying too much.) 1. What was the total cost of the visa and reentry permit? 2. Did you pay in Baht or Dong? 3. Does this visa require you to exit the country every 90 days, or are you just required to check in with your local immigration office?

They need the page with her details too.

that’s fine in my case. I work outside of Thailand and maximum I am in country is 30 days. That only happens twice a year. Usually it’s about 10-14 days then leave.

Just a heads up - you have to leave the country every 90 days on a ME Non-O "Marriage" visa. You *CAN NOT* do a 90 day report.

There is no kind of visa based on being married to a Thai National where you can report every 90 days to Immigration and stay as long as you like inside Thailand.

@Robert ******
so with this you still have to leave every 90 days and then can return for another 90 ? . Is it possible to get this and just report every 90 days to local immigration or is that another type of visa ? Thanks

Bill Flesher BTW I got all my guidance from Tod Daniels who was very patient. This was the easiest visa application I have done in a long time.

Edit: Robert Lagas is very knowledgeable on these topics as well

Now to get my landlord on board with this TM38 business.

you mix up two things. This visa is a 1 year Multiple Entry Non Immigrant O visa, which gives you 90 days of stay on each entry. The re-entry permit and the 90 day check in at your local Immigration Office are regulations of the 1 year Extension of Stay you get from Immigration.

Bill Flesher total cost at Royal Thai Consulate was 200 USD. They only accept dollars. I have to report or leave every 90 days. My work schedule is such that I’m not here 90 days so no issues. I can apply for extension of stay once in Thailand that will allow me to stay one full year from first entry on that visa. Not needed in my case.
