hello all
maybe a silly question but i have been waiting for dtv visa approval since august 14. The application has been delayed because they needed additional documents and the person doing the visa applications is currently on leave. Now, tomorrow I will arrive in Thailand. Since I meet all the conditions I suspect my visa application will be approved but since the circumstances so not until I am already in the country. In other words, I will enter on a visa-free basis (so I suspect I will also have to show a return ticket from within 60 days?). Now, my question is, if I get my dtv visa while I am in the country, do I still have to leave the country and back in for this visa to be valid? Or can I solve this by e.g. stopping by a migration office?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about their delayed DTV visa application which might be approved while they are in Thailand on a visa-free basis. They are seeking clarification on whether they need to leave Thailand and re-enter on the DTV visa once approved, or if they can resolve the situation at a migration office. Comments suggest that exiting Thailand and re-entering on the approved visa is necessary, along with advice to check with airlines regarding return ticket requirements.
