Hi people. I think this question is suitable for this group so: I have a single tourist visa (valid 60 days) and I want to extend it for 30 days as I'm visiting my daughter whilst seeing the sights as well.

I heard that you have to get certain things from your landlord like proof of address, length of stay etc or you could get fined.

Anyone have any views on this subject?

Many thanks in advance

Sorry people forgot to mention Chnburi immigration in jomtien, pattaya I will use

@Michael *******
sorry in phuket immigration is different
Michael ********
Nope that will not work at all as they will NOT register you online in the system.
Quimi ********
Ah sorry. In Phuket is not the same. Sorry for the bad info i have given
Robert *******
Look at the picture of
@Michael *******
, Chonburi Immigration want to know your address, That can not be done by a fake booking on a website, it must be in the Immigration system.
Quimi ********
But is in the future. I mean you are saying them where you ll stay.

@Robert ******
the confirmation that u received in the email
Robert *******
And how do you show the receipt of the hotel?

Your landlord or you should have done the TM30 when you arrived other wise it’ll be a 1600 Baht fine before you can extend

yeah just tried looking but of all the valuable advice you and others have given me, one thing is for sure......the owner/landlord/rental company are responsible. The owners of my condo I'm renting are firang friends anyway and if I have to pay then i know they'll reimburse me.
Tod *********
Colin Cooke you don't have the log in or the password to check it yourself ..

Do you know what the online program is. Could check it myself on my laptop

@Colin ******
just to be safe (because I've found it's better to be safe than sorry.

I'd go to the management office have them bring up the online program where they file TM.30 forms and do a print screen of your information. That program has no confirmation of them doing a report only that they submitted it. That's why I say have them to a print screen of your information on the system.

@Colin ******
then I'd say you're all set (y) when the immigration office keys in your information it will show you were registered at that address online.

just spoke to the owner and he told me that all his remnants get registered within 24hrs I'd arrival online.

So I should be ok to extend my setv now
Robert *******
Nope, the white card you get on the flight is the TM6. TM30 is a two pages form which should be filled by landlord, house owner or house master at Immigration 24 hours after your arrival at a private address. Hotels, guesthouses will do this for you.
Colin *******

The TM30 is that the white arrival card you get on the flight? They keep that and you keep the departure part in you passport?
Michael ********
If in Pattaya.
Michael ********
That it is.

Michael Lucken it is evidence the agent actually did it, rather than simply relying on the fact they said they did it...many say they do it but don’t
Michael ********
Yes but the acknowledgement does not indicate whether anything was approved or received at the other end so it means very little unfortunately.
Glen *********
@Michael *******
you get an acknowledgement online
Michael ********
If they did in fact do it, they probably would have done it online so there won't be a receipt. You will just have to go in with all the documents mentioned. If you are in the system when they check they will give you the slip and you are on your way. If not on the system then pay the 1600 and get it back or withhold it from the rent as you mentioned (as long as they agree beforehand). It is a lovely system.
Glen *********
@Colin ******
ask for copy of receipt of lodgement

@Glen ********
But I've spoke to them and they have told me it's been done. If bot and I pay 1600bt it will come off the rent. Either way I won't be paying it

@Colin ******
no agents of the condos I’ve lived in have ever filed TM30 for the owner...so be very careful

Thanks Todd

you'll find out 100% when you go to get an extension of stay in jomtien (they're serious as a heart attack about that TM.30 and will be only too happy to fine you for not having it done.)
Tod *********
@Colin ******
I wouldn't be so sure your presumption is correct until I talked with the managing company and see if they file the TM.30 form online like hotels and guest houses can.

I am staying in a condo who the owner of my room gets a property company called "Star Property Services" to manage his 20-30 condos/apts he has. So I am only 4 days in of my 3 month holiday so I presume they would know what there doing?

That's all I've took to extend my SETV for 30 day's in Bangkok.

I visited 13 city's last year and got my extension in the northeast.

And told them i was going to the hotel i booked on line when i leave this office.

No problems.
Tod *********
@Colin ******
many people just check into a cheap hotel for one day on the date they're going for their extension and show that bill and a business card from the hotel when they go to get their extension.

OR conversely, you could just get your extension in Bangkok where they don't care at all about the TM.30 form ;)
Tod *********
@Colin ******
it is 24 hours of taking up residence in the area you're staying in that's served by the immigration office of that area where you're going to get your extension .

is that 24hrs from arrival?

@Michael *******
ok that's what I've heard a lot of. People being fined 1600 bt because landlord not registered tennant.
Michael ********
AND if you have not been registered at an address within 24 hours you will probably have to pay a fine of 1600 baht or your Landlord will. You lodge the TM30 first and get the receipt. Copy that, and then submit for the extension. If you are at a hotel they would already have registered you online so they will see it in the system.

You need the data page, departure card, arrival stamp and photos X2 copies. Then you need either #1 or #2 or #3 depending on your accommodation. 1 is if you are owner, 2 is renting, 3 is hotel or similar.
Colin *******
ORIGINAL POSTER
It say copy copy copy so they don't even need your passport

??? Just kidding but..........
Colin *******

I need all that just to extend? It won't be a problem but that's a bit OTT lol

Typical Thailand.......love it!! Lol
Amornrat **********
Bangkok does not require the addl requirements
Robert *******
That depends on which Immigration Office you're going to use.
