I have a Single Entry Tourist Visa from Italy valid for a Stay of 3 Month. I stay here 2 Month already now and want to extend the Visa at the Immigration Office for 1 more Month. I stay here in Suphanburi and the Immigration Officer says, that they need the ID Card and the Signature of the Owner of the Residence. I asked at the reception if the this is possible and everything looked fine until today. The lady at the reception says that the owner is in Bangkok. The Visa expires tomorrow. So what can I do now. Should I go to BKK for the extension? I come to Thailand every Year and this is the first time this has been asked to me.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user with a Single Entry Tourist Visa valid for a stay of 3 months in Thailand has encountered difficulties in extending their visa due to the unavailability of their accommodation's owner. They need the ID card and signature of the owner for the visa extension process. Suggestions from the community include visiting Bangkok to apply for the extension, obtaining proof from a hotel booking instead, or having the Immigration Office contact the accommodation for clarification on the situation. The user expressed their concerns about the TM30 form requirements and the overall rigidity of the immigration office's policies.

Maybe it's obvious, but it is worth mentioning that while applying in Bangkok, you should put down a Bangkok address on your application form. And not mention anything about where you just came from. Otherwise you'll be sent back to that particular immigration office.
Luke ******
No they don't. Or you could use a friend's address if you have any in Bangkok. If you tell them you are staying in Suphanburi or put that on the application you will be sent back to Suphanburi.

Isn't that a risk? Don't they call the hotel?

You could do a day trip to Singapore and return to get a new 30 day exempt entry.

Where does your gf live..? With you..? Or at another residence. If she does not live with you then get a copy of her address, the blue book and her ID card and say you live with her. Or go to BKK as discussed above....Yes TM30 is a real pain...
Michael ********
Ah well that is difficult

She is from Korat and stays with me....

Someone at your guesthouse should have power of attorney to sign TM 30s when the owner is away; otherwise they’d be racking up violations every time someone checks in. Ask again....or go to Bangkok!

Thank you all for the help...

Can't you just book a hotel for a night or two, get whatever the piece of paper is that proves you're staying there, and then extend the tourist visa with that?

This TM30 business, is a real pain in the BUTT ,

I thought about that too..but the problem is more the Immigration Office itself and their willingness to cooperate. My Thai Girlfriend called today and they seem to be angry and only speak that if I don't bring the papers, they won't do the extension...
Andrew *******
So...why wouldn't that work? If the problem is just that his current place can't do it because the owner isn't there.

In Jomtien they need you to show the booking receipt for the hotel and the business card when you're getting an extension. That's to supposedly prove the hotel filed a TM.30 for you.

If you came to bangkok you wouldn't need that information BUT why not have the immigration office call the place you're staying and talk to them?

I called them already today and they don't cooperate with me. They only told me, that if I don't have the papers they won't extend the Visa for me....
