TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the feasibility of extending a tourist visa in Pattaya due to perceived difficulties in Bangkok. Comments highlight that the process is similar in both locations, with Pattaya having restrictions on when applications can be made. Some users recommend choosing Bangkok for its more flexible application window, while others report success in Pattaya. Additionally, the TM 30 form filing is discussed, clarifying that it is the hotel or landlord's duty, and it will need to be filed in the location of the current stay.

When going to Thailand for 31 - 60 ( 90 )days, the 60 days touristvisa is the best option.

It is cheaper than visaexcempt + 30 days extension.

No need of a onward ticket ( 90 days 1 onward ), if returnticket within 60 days.

It is easier to apply from the comfort of your home.

Not wasting holiday time to find, go to and waiting at a immigration office ( 90 you would need that ).

No need to leave Thailand in up to 90 days.

I never filed a TM 30 as I always have stayed in hotels, not condos or friends yet. As I understand it, this is the landlords responsibility...but, If I spend a week in Bangkok upon arrival and then go to Pattaya...from what you say, do you think the TM 30 would be filed in Bangkok? Thx in advance.

ask your landlord/hotel for confirmation

the TM 30 will be filed at the place/ hotel you are staying. So if you leave Bangkok and go to Pattaya the new TM30 will be filed there.

It may not be of any help but I found Jomtien/chonburi immigration very easy to deal with earlier this years was in and out job done had everything they required on hand was told to come back at 1.30 pm to collect passport did that job done in 1.5 hours maybe I was lucky Chokh di

If I had to choose between Bangkok or Pattaya's immigration office, I would choose Bangkok.

yes absolutely agree. But make an appt in Bkk before you go can save u hours of waiting time

Why is it difficult to do in Bangkok? It's going the be the exact same process in Pattaya. Except at Jomtien immigration you're only allowed to apply for a tourist extension when you have a week or less left on your stay. At Bangkok you can apply when you have 45 days or less left, giving you a much larger window to apply in Bangkok

book your appointment time a few days in advanced and then bring all the required paper work. When your appointment time starts you can approach the counter and tell them you have appointment time and show your appointment notification that you got in your email. They will take you almost straight away jumping any queue that is sitting waiting

@Shaughn **********
thank you, are you able to book online & if so do you have the contact information please?

@Linda **********
yes through the thai immigration website. You'll have to look for the online appointments button. It always takes me several minutes to find... sometimes its posted somewhere in this forum. I dont know it off by hand to send you though.

look for this button

it's all based on where you have your TM30 filed. That's the immigration office you have to apply at.
