Hi all,

I'm here on a 60 day Tourist Visa and the stamp expires May 1st I'm in Phanga Nga and would like to extend further.

1. Would I apply for the regular 30 day extension for 1900 baht and once that's done in June go for the 60 day covid extension if still available or do you do covid extension first.

2. Just to confirm does the extension start from when you apply ie 30 days from the day I go to immigration or is it tacked on to when my stamp expires May 1st plus 30 days.

2. Regarding the TM30 not sure how strict they are now. I stayed here before and my same landlord used the app which is now broken so are they giving a bit of leeway in this regard. She barely speaks English and getting her to fill out TM30 is going to be next to impossible. I do have rental contract with her and land deed all this was required for me to get COE to stay here in first place.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
User seeks advice on extending a 60-day Tourist Visa in Thailand that expires on May 1st. They inquire whether to apply for a regular 30-day extension first or a 60-day COVID extension, and how the start date of these extensions works. They also ask about the TM30 requirement, expressing difficulty in getting compliance from their landlord.

1 - whether you have to take your 'regular' 30 day extension first or can go straight to a 60 day covid extension is between you and the immigration office you use.

2 - the 30 day 'regular' extension is added to the expiration date of your current stamp, but as a rule a 60 day covid extension starts the day you apply for it

3 - Whether you need a TM30 or not again is between you and the immigration office.

I'd say post on a f/b group related to the south, Phuket or the islands down there to get the immigration specific answers.

or slog on over to the immigration office on Friday (the first day they're open after Songkran holiday) and ask them

Hi, I was going to ask about similar. I came on visa exempt, 45 days finished on May 1. I hear the 60 days covid exemption is applicable until May 29. So the question is could I first get a regular 30 days extension and then on top of that 60 days covid extension at the end of May?

@Þors*****
that is an answer that your immigration office can give you. You need to be asking there.

I will, thanks.

I'd go soon and apply for the 30 day extension (which should get added to your current stamp's expiration) and then before the 29th of May (when the covid program is set to expire this time) go and apply for the 60 day covid extension

Going tomorrow. That sounds like a good plan, thanks.
