Afternoon, I’m looking for some advice in renewing my 90 days spouse type o non immigration visa. I’m wishing to extend it for a year.. my 90 day visa runs out on the 18 of February. How long in advance do I have to review it?

Many thanks 🙏🏼

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on renewing their 90-day spouse O Non-Immigrant visa, specifically how to apply for a year-long extension. They inquire about the timeline for application before the current visa expires. Comments provide clarification that they will need to apply for a 12-month Extension of Stay rather than renewing the visa, and suggest visiting a local immigration office for specific procedures.

The nearest Immigration office can fill you in on that, and since they do it slightly different from office to office, you need the correct answer from the office you intend to use.

You are not renewing your Visa, you will be applying for a 12 month Extension of Stay and you have to apply for it before your current entry stamp runs out.

ah, I checked your profile and it seems you are married to a Thai husband. So, you can apply for the "1-year extension of stay permit based on the marriage to a Thai husband". You need a document that your marriage is approved inside Thailand (which you can get freshly printed on the Amphur. It is called Kor Ror 22) As a wife of a Thai citizen, you do not need to do any financial proof or money in the bank

yes my husband is Thai. Will my husband have to show proof of his finances? Thank you for your advice 🙏🏼

no financial proof required for your Thai husband

Your wires are crossed. A foreign woman married to a Thai husband doesn't need to show any fincancial proof, and her husband doesn't need to show one at all . . YOU as a long standing member in the visa advice groups, should be familar with that. I am shocked to find out you are not up to notch

@Graham *****
no way. Her Thai husband is not required to show a financial proof for her application to a spousal 12-months extension of stay

@Nongnuch *******
that's what "no financial proof" means

ooops, I missed to read the "no"

That's NOT TRUE. Your Thai husband does NOT have to prove his income.
@Graham *****
is WRONG!

no, your husband is not required to show his income, when you apply for the 1-year extension of stay

last time I got a 60 day extension on my non O visa, have a Son at school here, I was told I would need to open a thai bank account if I wanted to stay a year, told that by the immigration officer that stamped me in for an extra 60 days

I think it’s different for a farang man that’s married to a Thai lady… but when a farang that’s married to a Thai man there’s different rules

the OP obviously is married to a Thai husband. So she can apply for the 1-year extension of her stay permit based on being married to a Thai citizen. No financial proof needed. She however COULD theoretically apply for the 60-days extension based on family visit as well. But WHY would she do that, there is no advantage being had. She can easily get a 1-year extended stay permit, and buy a multi re-entry permit on that (she seems to be a flight attendant so in case she is still working, she would exit and re-enter Thailand multiple times during one year)

i would say and take any bet, that you did not get a 60-days extension on a 90-days Non-Imm-O Visa, but you got a "60-days Extension based on Family Visit". With a half Thai child as reason. And you had to exit Thailand before these 60 days stay permit expired. One cannot get the 90-days stay permit out of a Non-O visa extended, except if you meet the requirements for the application to the "1-year extension of stay" either based on family, being married to a Thai wife or being over 50 years old

you need proof of your relationship to the spouse, onto whose stay permit you are basing your "trailing spouse" 12-months extension of stay. Are you married to a Thai or are you the mother of a half-Thai child? Or are you the wife of a foreigner on a "retirement extension" ?
