Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user asks if they can apply for a 60-day extension for their Non O visa, which is based on being married to a Thai citizen, before applying for a yearly extension. Several comments suggest that while it is possible to apply for the 60-day extension, some immigration offices limit extensions to one per visa type, meaning the user may want to consider their future needs before applying. It is also recommended to inquire about specific requirements at the local immigration office.

I did thanks, yes. It says it varies from office to office. I'm hoping to find out what the situation is with Chaengwattana, and AFAIK Tod is up there most days.
it appears from talking to someone who took that extension (not at Chaengwattana though) that it starts the day you apply for it. That is because it's issued for a different reason; not clause 2.18; marriage to a thai but clause 2.24 visiting thai family and they seem to start it the day you apply.
BUT
seeing as I am not married to a thai, nor do I have thai family I honestly have no
idea you need to slog on out to C/W yourself if you're wanting to get that extension and ask them ๐
much appreciated. Looks like I'm heading to CW then ๐๐คฆโโ๏ธ

THESE are the common found requirements for the 60 day family visit extension of stay at your local Thai immigration office. Take your Thai wife with you to the Thai Immigration office and ask for their list of requirements.

You should be able to do that but remember some offices only let you get ONE 60 day visit family extension per VISA (and that means extension too) so if your office is like that and you take that extension now, IF you need it down the road you can't get it.
I'd say IF you don't need it to get the funds seasoned, or to push your expiration date 2 months out or something just don't take it and keep it in case you do need it
