TLDR : Answer Summary
The Managing Director holding a single-entry Non-Immigrant B Visa can obtain a work permit, but it is contingent on the company and the Ministry of Labour. However, they cannot convert this single-entry visa to a one-year multi-entry Non-B Visa from inside Thailand; instead, they could apply for a one-year extension of stay at the immigration office.

NO they can't get a year long multi-entry Non-B VISA inside the country :( They could (with the correct documentation) get a year long extension of stay from the immigration office and then after that apply for a multiple re-entry permit

And as far as them getting a work permit that is between the company they work for and the Ministry if Labour (it's not a thai VISA question)

You can get the visa extended inside the country for 1 year, though.

You cannot get a year-long, multi-entry Non-B visa INSIDE the country
@Ni***
:/ You get them from a thai consulate in another country
