TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can extend your 3-month Non-B visa to a 1-year Non-B visa at your local immigration office. It is recommended to consult with your employer as they should be familiar with the application process. Additionally, you should visit the immigration office to obtain a handout listing the specific requirements, as these can vary by location. Make sure to prepare all necessary documentation to facilitate the extension process.

Go to your immigration office and get the hand out that lists the requirements to get a yearly extension of stay. There is no one size fits all list of requirements. Each office requires slightly different documentation.

you didn't extend ANYTHING if you went to Penang. :O

You bought a completely NEW visa.

If you're managing director and hold a minimum 8 month valid Work Permit you can apply in Penang for the 1 year Non Immigrant B visa. The requirements to get the 1 year of stay at Immigration are a little more than the Consulate in Penang but if your company has the ducks in a row, no need for headaches.

Okay thanks! Previously i just went to penang and extended to 1 year there, would it be easier to just do it with local immigration or does it bring a new type of headache? ๐Ÿ˜„

Your employer should know how to apply for this Extension of Stay, if not visit the Immigration Office in your area and ask for the hand out with requirements, this list is in English and Thai. Start to make the copies and you can apply if you have them all.
