TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK citizen currently in Bangkok can extend their 45-day visa for an additional 30 days by visiting a local immigration office. The extension fee is 1,900 Baht. Applicants must bring their passport, two passport-sized photos, and have the TM30 form filled out, along with photocopies of their passport's data page and the arrival stamp. It's advisable to arrive before 9:30 AM for faster processing. Alternatively, a visa run to countries like Laos can also provide a new visa.

We just did a visa run to Vientiane Laos and applied for 60 day tourist visa, it cost us 1,000 baht and they have given us 90 days. Need to make appointment online first. Very easy process providing you have all the paperwork completed.

As above, for Bangkok all you need is your passport, a pen and some cash. You can get photocopies and a photo at booth next to immigration. Then fill out the 3 forms provided and pay 1900B. Go before 9:30 and you'll be done in 30 mins

It costs 1900B at your local Immigration Office and the general requirements (some offices may differ) are :

You'll need to go to IT Square LakSi, not Chaeng Watthana, if you entered on visa exempt.

Here are general guidelines.

no immigration cards were given out on plane and I checked with immigration and they don’t do them now as I have always filled one in, but passport stamped

you’re referring to the TM6. It has been suspended for air travel.

Joe is referring to the TM30. Which is done by either the hotel or landlord of the condo etc you’re staying at. You can also do it yourself. It’s required within 24hrs of being in Thailand.

Bangkok immigration doesn’t ask for it, the TM30. If you can get it, I would suggest you have it. Just in case.
