Hi, I am a UK citizen and I arrived in Thailand from Hanoi with 30 days tourist visa. Am I able to extend this for another 30 days? I have until 23rd November at the moment but I have a flight booked to Australia on 8th December. I am currently in Chiang Mai.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK citizen currently in Thailand with a 30-day tourist visa can extend their stay for an additional 30 days by visiting the nearest immigration office and paying a fee of 1,900 THB. The original admission date recorded in their passport will determine their eligibility for the extension, especially if they have previously used a re-entry permit.

Thank you everyone. Sorry for wasting your time. I totally fogot i had used a reentry permit and took a look at my passport and thought my tourist visa was running out!

The stamp above says Visa class Non - Re, this means you used a Re-Entry Permit which you bought before you left Thailand to make this trip and the last day of your Admitted or Permitted to Stay in your passport was and is used again 23 Nov 2019. Please check your passport an see how did you stay inside Thailand before you left on this trip with return date 15 Oct 2019.

You should be able to extend it, yes. Up to 23 December, 1,900B.

ahh yes i did use a reentry permit - i was on a 60 day tourist visa - i entered Thailand on 25th September. So does that mean i can still extend for 30 days which will give me enough time before I leave on the 8th December?

I read that i might only be able to extend for 7 days. This is the stamp i have in my passport.

Another alternative for you if you can't extend would be to do a border bounce at Mae Sai. This should be no problem as long as you have fewer than two visa exempt land entries this year. That will get you 30 days, enough for your flight.

Were you in Thailand before? That's not a 30 day visa exempt stamp. It looks like a re-entry on a previous visa. Did you buy a re-entry permit when you left Thailand last?

Where are you getting the 30 days thing from, 23 November is not 30 days from 15 October.

If this is a re-entry on a previous visa it all depends on whether you extended that visa or not, and what type of visa it was.

If you didn't, and it was a tourist visa, you can extend it by 30 days. If you did, you get the 7 day refusal (and it runs from the date of application).
