TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, the Non-O marriage visa has changed, and as of October 2023, it is primarily offered as a single entry visa. The multiple entry option for Non-O eVisas has been removed at most embassies using the e-visa system. Those seeking a multiple entry visa may need to apply for it in other locations such as Laos, which still offers a 1-year multiple entry marriage visa. Additionally, individuals can obtain a re-entry permit to maintain their visa status when leaving Thailand.

We went abroad during the first three months, before the first extension. I simply got a re-entry permit. When we returned the passport control mentioned βYou have only 10 days left on your visaβ and I replied we would request the extension on the next Monday.
Zero problems, friendly smile, and a βVery goodβ from the officer.

Last year about Oct, they eliminated the "multiple entry" option on Non-O eVisas based on retirement, marriage.
ALL the consulates that are on the eVisa system ONLY have single entry 90 day Non-O available for those reasons.
These 59 thai consulates are eVisa

No, there was always a multiple entry option, and a single entry option. It is just now the multiple is no long available in most places.
It would be possible to get a re-entry permit and return on the same visa. But it would be best to get a 1 year extension of stay, and a re-entry permit.
