Is a non-O marriage visa multiple entry or single entry, and do I need a re-entry permit?

I have a non-O marriage based visa. This is my first time on this visa and I am leaving the country for a trip and will come back. I’m wondering if a non-O marriage visa is multiple entry or single entry? If it’s multiple entry do I still need to buy a re-entry permit before I leave? Thanks for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The non-O marriage visa can be either single or multiple entry, depending on whether it was issued by a Thai consulate abroad or obtained within Thailand at an immigration office. If it's a single entry visa, a re-entry permit is required to maintain the visa status upon leaving and returning to Thailand. If it is a multiple entry visa or if you're on a one-year extension, you will need a re-entry permit to ensure your extension remains valid.

It will say if it’s multiple or single entry, most likely it’s single entry 90 day visa. If you are on a 1 year extension of that visa you will definitely need a reentry permit to keep the extension alive. In either case you need a reentry permit and return before the permission to stay stamp expires.

FYI...from February 2022

My husband and I live together in a condo that we rent. We are both on the lease. HE is listed in the housebook for his mother’s house. We are trying to gather the paperwork necessary for the non-o marriage based visa. We went to immigration and they were unsure of what housebook we would need to include. Has anyone experienced this? Does the condo have a housebook or do the specific owners or each condo apartment have a housebook? Would we use his housebook even though we don’t live there? This is quite confusing for us. Any advice would be appreciated.

the real questions are did you get this "non-o Marriage visa" from a thai consulate in your country before you came here OR did you get it inside the country at the immigration office.

And

I ask that because inside the country you can only get a non-O visa or an extension without ANY re-entry. <- that's because you're already IN the country when you get them, where as if you get the visa at a consulate before you come here it is sold as either a single or multiple re-entry

So where did you get the Non-O marriage visa?

I got it in Thailand.. and they gave me a stamp for one year.. so I got the visa in February 2022 and my stamp is for February 2023..

then you don't have ANY visa anymore, but are on an "extension of stay" 😮

You need to buy a re-entry permit before you leave the country OR you will cancel your extension when you stamp out. 😕

You can buy one at the immigration office where you got your extension (single reentry is 1000baht and multiple reentry is 3800baht) OR you can buy them at Suvarnabhumi Airport before you fly out ( single reentry is 1200baht and mutliple reentry is 4000baht).

Thank you. I am just wondering how it works that I don’t have a visa, but only an extension of stay.. I was on a Non-ED and then (without leaving the country) applied for a non-O visa based on marriage and then was given this stamp?
