Does an extension of my Non-IMM ED visa reset my 90-day reporting requirement in Thailand?

Last time I asked immigration about 90 day reporting I was told the wrong info and had to pay a fine.

Question:

When I extended my Non-IMM ED visa for a year, did that reset my 90 day report?

When I did my extension, I had to take my lease agreement to prove my address.

I was told it did start my 90 day report over, but now Iโ€™m starting to wonder if I was given incorrect information once again.

Someone please let me know, thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When you extended your Non-IMM ED visa for a year, it does not automatically reset your 90-day reporting requirement unless you received a new 90-day report receipt at the time of extension. The reporting process generally operates independently of your visa extension, but the issuance of a new receipt indicates the countdown for your next report has restarted.

As a rule ONLY the very first yearly extension starts the 90 day reporting process and then it runs on it's own without anything to do with extensions.

IF you were already doing 90 day reporting (before you got this new yearly extension) the way to tell IF they reset the 90 day count down clock is

IF they gave you a NEW 90 day report receipt when you got your extension they DID reset the 90 day count down

IF they didn't give you a new 90 day report receipt when you got your extension they DIDN'T reset the 90 day count down.

Doesn't matter at all that you showed your lease to get an extension that has nothing to do with a 90 day report.

I'd say IF you have a 90 day report receipt in your passport GO and report on that date

Thanks for the info. Seems Iโ€™m now one day late, so I will go today and help the government get rich once again.

you are allowed to file a 90 day report in person from 15 days before down until 7 days after it's due. If it's only one day past the due date you are not late at all yet..

Oh wow, thanks for that ๐Ÿ™.

I should just remember from not on that I need an extension every time unless leave and re-enter.
