Does my 90 day report reset when I re-enter Thailand on an ED Visa?

Hello!

I just tried to update my 90 day report online twice and it got rejected both times.

I’m currently on an ED Visa through a university. And about a week ago I went to Taiwan for just a couple of days. Does my 90 days reset when I re-enter Thailand? Or do I need to go submit it in-person at immigration?

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
When you leave Thailand and return, your 90-day reporting period resets. The new 90-day countdown starts from your re-entry date. For some immigration offices, the initial report must be submitted in person, and depending on your landlord's actions, a TM30 form may also need to be filed within 24 hours of your return.

I was told that when the 90 day report was reset (I came out of Thailand and came back), I must come to the Immigration Office for them to print me a new form stating what date I need to submit a new one. They told me I cannot count 90 days myself and submit when it’s due.

Wow.. So many not reading the question properly?

Yes, reset, start new... in most immigration the first 1 has to be done in person. Some immigration don't need a new tm30 returning to the same address... Some do.. TiT!

90 day report is for 90 consecutive days inside Thailand. If you leave before 90 days then you're no longer in Thailand for 90 consecutive days and when you return the counting starts over at day 1 because it's consecutive days only.

If you leave the country you usually need to file a new TM30 though (or more accurately your landlord needs to file) within 24 hours of your return.

Your 90 report resets. The new 90 day period starts from the day you came back to Thailand.
