Hello, I’m currently on an ED visa with a Thai language school. So I need to go and extend my visa every 2 months. My question is why do I need to go and do the 90 days report every 3 months even after I come every two months ??
I didn’t know until last week and had to pay fine...

TLDR : Answer Summary
The need for a 90-day report in Thailand is a separate requirement from visa extensions. Even if you extend your ED visa every two months, if you remain in the country continuously for 90 days, you are mandated to file a 90-day report. This report is necessary regardless of visa extensions and can be completed online or by mail, allowing you to avoid visiting the immigration office in person. It's important to manage these timelines to prevent fines.

As mentioned they are two total different things. One is an Extension of Stay to be allowed to be inside Thailand. The other one is you report when you're 90 days inside Thailand. As you only get 60 days of Extension of Stay at the time, you need to make an extra visit when you are in Thailand 90 days. But you do not have to make this 90 day report on day 90, you can use the online system as mentioned from 15 days before till 7 days before due date, or by old fashioned mail 15 days before due date or in person or authorized person between 15 days before due date till 7 days after.
I’m sorry but I don’t understand why ? Since I’m coming every 2 months to extend my visa then they know I am here and I’m giving them my address each time...
