TLDR : Answer Summary
As of now, UK citizens entering Thailand are required to undergo a mandatory quarantine period of 14 days, regardless of vaccination status. The quarantine must be completed in an Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) facility, which can be costly. Although there was a discussion about possibly reducing quarantine for vaccinated travelers, the current regulations are strict and may change frequently due to health assessments and the evolving COVID-19 situation in Thailand.

Which vacations?

Yes

unfortunately yes, my feeling is why did I bother getting a vax and whose idea in Thai govt to impose 14 days if you've already been vaccinated for the virus?
did you see Sleepy Joe Biden addresses an already vaccinated Congress??you can still get Covid and expose people even if your vaccinated, right now we're dealing with a new wave that seems to be the biggest one yet so you should stay home until it's dealt with
I'm in Pattaya, btw. And believe me, I want a return to something near normal as much as the next one (including shorter or no quarantine for the jabbed.)
But again, I'm pretty certain that will require efforts inside the country to have moved along significantly.

Im not getting into an intellectual conversation with a dude who’s posted up in pattaya. Enjoy your stay bro.

Lol! You're doing material now, right?
Snark doesn't always come through clearly with the written word, btw.
Also, I'm describing what is the most likely route towards freer travel (not my own opinion of it.) Whether you like it or not, it'll involve vaccines. And, for Thailand in particular, it'll most likely require the (so far, very slow) efforts inside the country to progress substantially.
yes I’m a joker, your correct but my only question was why is the government making us get a vaccine, just so we have to quarantine anyways?

Because a) the government is not sure (some might say paranoid.) And thus b) inoculation in this country needs to be further progressed (while also developing a better understanding of the vaccine and how effective it is against mutations.)
wtf are you talking about. A. Very strange this all occurred around a US election and all the shady bullshit going on there. B. It’s not that deadly, I have family members who are doctors, it’s all a hoax bro.
Your living in fantasy land. They want you to think this shit.

I'm realistic that, whatever you may think of vaccines, we need that effort if we want to see travelling return to some semblance of normalcy.
But as others posted, keep an eye on Phuket. They'll likely become a shorter quarantine playground for those with who've received the jab(s).
Ok that’s not my point brother. If I get two vaccines in my arm, why do I still need to quarantine? You people are living under exactly what the government wants you too. I just want to be free again man.
A single entry tourist visa can be extended ONCE for 1,900 THB, for an additional 30 days. You can apply for the extension at most immigration offices when there is 30 days or less remaining on your current entry stamp.
It's the same as it was before... Day 1 for arrival at the ASQ, 14 (full) days in quarantine, Day 16 departure... nothing to do with when you arrive... ;-)
Steve Offenback the vaccine has been used successfully on millions of people. It's cut infection, transmission, sickness and deaths. Most countries want to protect their people by vaccination.

All I’m asking is do you need the vaccine to come to Thailand??
🙏🏼 current numbers as of 9pm 03 May 2021 (Turkey time) show if you test positive from the thoroughly inaccurate PCR test you have a greater than 99.4% chance of being asymptomatic or experience mild symptoms. I would take those odds any day of the week then voluntarily take an experimental drug that only makes you asymptomatic.
I think it’s about how you feel. If taking the jab makes people feel less stress and fear then take it - I believe that’s most important. Stress, fear and anxiety are the biggest killers by far. I will continue to trust my body.

The vaccine has been used successfully on millions 8f people. It's cut infection, transmission, sickness and deaths. You may not want this success to continue but many countries do.
then it comes down to a larger issue. If you want to go into a nightclub and the doorman says to enter you need to take this pill. Would you enter? If you asked the doorman what is in the pill and he says he can’t tell you. Then you are taking your chances.
If you get severely injured or die after you take it will your life insurance pay out to your family? They might say you took part in an experimental program and if you read page 27 section 24 subsection 6 states you are no longer covered if you voluntarily take part in a clinical trial with your subsequent death or injury being a result of such trial.
People need to read or contact their life insurance companies and get it in writing.

So do you need vaccine? I’d rather do the quarantine and not get it
i came back a year gone February I am married with 2 young daughters i go for 3 months come back for 2 months as I have a elderly mother if I new what I no now I wouldn't have come back
Up until very recently you could have got away with a 7 night option but that reverted back to the 15 night policy because of the rising number of cases here.

I thought it went down to 7 days

7 day Quarantine, in Phuket from 1 July if vaccinated, unless it's changed
trust me it is a shitshow at the moment rather stay put till the official Thai announcement is made that foreigners can return without quarantine dont waist that money
I agree I think the days of tourism as a whole are a bit daunting. I do not think that the countries in colder climates would be able to bridge the infection rates in regards to the countries in warmer climates and vice versa. The infection and Virus scare is just too big and countries are not soon applying any measures to make it likely that people would be able to travel. It just seems like every time they do try and those people come back that the rate of infections just jump and it just leads to total lockdowns again. The rate at which the vaccines can be produced is simply too long and it will not be helping towards said herd immunity in September as anticipated by many countries. This thing is simply just evolving too fast.
