TLDR : Answer Summary
A user recently arrived in Thailand on a tourist visa valid for 40 days and is questioning the duration of their Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ). Comments clarify that there has been no significant change to the quarantine duration, which remains at 16 days (15 nights) as of now. The discussions highlight confusion over visa stamping and future policy changes expected to take effect on April 1, 2021, concerning reduced quarantine requirements.
go to the thai consulate in Dublin's website and read about how to apply for a 90 day single entry Non-Immigrant Type O visa based on being over 50 (retirement)
nights in 16 days if That’s what you’re questioning about. If it is, I can’t believe you entered the country not knowing how many days are required to stay in quarantine.
Read the post again. He thought the date was 20th April which would just be 40 days so he was asking if the quarantine had already been reduced to 10 days but in fact it’s a thai style 4 and the date on the stamp is 24th April 👍
A tourist visa (TR) would have given you 60 days on arrival. A visa exempt entry gives 45 days (increased from 30 to take in to account for the need for 15 nights mandatory quarantine)

We had the same thing. With a two month visa they stamped us informed only 15 days. Where. We go in on the date specified they will give us a stamp for the remainder of the 60 days. They may ask for more money though as some people have reported, it just depends on what province you are in.

It’s still 16 days and 15 nights nothing has changed as yet. It has never been 14 days!
Each time I enter Thailand, I check my stamp right after passing the immigration boot in order to have them correcting on the spot in case of discrepancy. Otherwise you'll spoil a day at the immigration office to have is rectified.

They wrote 24 the Thai way.

Your ASQ is going to be 15 very long days, bring of hire an Xbox whatever..
Definitely not 10 days. That's not official yet and just for people who have vaccinated.. I guess they just simple miscalculated your days.

Yes it will be effective from 1st April hope soon they will come up with zero quraintine policy but there are more debates and negotiations to go for zero quraintine. ASSOCIATION OF THAI TRAVEL AGENTS (atta) trying to push it on July 1st but govt plans on October. Hope it becomes normal soon
