US passport. Chiang Mai is my immigration office. Renewed my passport this stamp expiring Nov 30th is in the old passport.

1) Do I need to transfer this stamp to the new passport? Keep in mind I will likely need to apply for another extension if that is relevant.

2) If so, which immigration office in Chiang Mai do I need to do that at?

3) Do any other documents need to be updated TM30 or TM 6 come to mind as possibilities.

Thank you all for the work you do. The information here has made these unusual times far less stressful.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user wants to know whether they need to transfer their visa stamp from an old US passport to a new one, how to do this at the Chiang Mai immigration office, and if they need to update any related documents like TM30 or TM6. Responses suggest that holding both passports may suffice for immediate needs, and transferring the stamp can be handled during a future extension application.

Same deal, also Chiang Mai. Since I will be in the city tomorrow I was planning to stop by the immigration office to get the transfer done but it sounds like I can just have them do it when I go there to apply for a 1 year extension in about 4 weeks, correct?

Does immigration typically do the transfer 'while you wait' or is this a 'leave it with us and come back' thing? And, if it has to left with them, how long does it typically take to get it back?

usually do it while you're there.

Unless you're going to apply for a new 60 day extension I think you're fine just holding both passports. Keep the letter the US consulate gives you that states you got a new passport in country. AND when you go apply for a 60 day extension in Nov take them both.

You won't need a new TM30 or anything like that. They'll change the system when you get the extension stamps moved to the new passport
