Question about TM30 and visa extension: Do I need to bring any proof of TM30, or any form/paperwork related to that, when I go to extend my visa exemption in Chiang Mai?
More details: I entered Thailand via Phuket Sandbox in August, with a 45-day visa exemption. I traveled to Chiang Mai in Sep. This week, I moved to a Chiang Mai hotel that specifically told me they *will* file a TM30 for me. (Previously, my Airbnb host didn't file one.)
Now if I go to extend my visa for 30 more days, do I need to bring anything related to the TM30? Or should I get any information from my hotel (like the owner's name/passport info)?
Thank you!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired if they need to provide proof of TM30 paperwork when extending their visa exemption in Chiang Mai. They moved to a hotel claiming to file TM30s after previously staying at an Airbnb, which did not file one. Various comments suggested that although the hotel should process the TM30, in case they hadn't, they could contact the TM30 office behind immigration for assistance. An update confirmed that the hotel did not file the TM30 automatically, but staff at the TM30 office helped rectify the issue quickly, allowing the user to include the documentation needed for their visa extension.
