So I got a new US Passport at my embassy here. I came into the country on a 60 day SETV I was hoping to extend to 90. The US Embassy gave me a letter to help me transfer the old visa to the new passport, but I am reading conflicting info online about if that's even necessary. Is it? And if so, where do I go to do this and what form should I use?

Answer summary

The user has a new US passport and needs to know if it's necessary to transfer their existing 60-day SETV visa from the old passport to the new one, as they received a letter from the US Embassy regarding this matter. They are looking for guidance on whether the transfer is essential, the location to do it, and the required forms.
