TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the requirement to report to the Chiang Mai Immigration office after returning to Thailand with a 30-day exemption and a previous O/A retirement visa. It indicates that filing a TM30 may be necessary upon return, especially since the user has changed visa status and is on a different stamp.

Typically locally in CM if returning on the same extension/visa etc no, but you are on a completely different stamp now and likely they will want a new TM30 filed. Head to the office.

You need to submit TM30 again when you are back from abroad in CM.
My neighbor in same situation as me was at Chiang Mai TM30 desk today and was told he must do it .. but if he has 'receipt of notification' paper in his passport and his residence is the same, no need to involve landlord
the same situation as in he WAS on an OA, bounced out of the country to come in visa exempt and is now gonna apply for an in country Non-O visa ?
I would say FILE a new one you're on a totally new stamp, you don't have a "primary residence" you're here as a "tourist"

Ask your local Chiang Mai Thai Immigration office for their requirements for the TM30 filing when you return to Thailand... The Policy varies among Thai Immigration offices nationwide.
