I'd asked the other day about Mae Sai border runs. Went today, had no issues. Do I need to update my TM30 in Chiang Mai tomorrow since it was same day exit/entry? It hadn't really occurred to me that I might need to til now.

Thanks for the responses. Once I thought about it, it made sense that I'd need to update the form. I was just stuck on my "but I wasn't even gone for an hour" logic and needed confirmation.

I did the same border bounce earlier this year and knew nothing about TM30 process so did not re-register. I did not run into any problems because I was on a METV and had no reason to visit immigration. The next time I will get the place I stay to do it even if I will not need to go to immigration for any other reason.

You do, yes, although whether it will impact on anything if you are on a tourist stamp is another question. My condo office does it for me online, I just give them my passport when I come back and it takes them 2 minutes. Worth asking, depending on your living arrangements, it's certainly quicker than going out to immigration to do it yourself.
