I went to Mae Sai for a day trip. I did not spend the night. Do I need to do another tm30 .I left the country and came back the same day to my same residence.

Yep, you file a new TM30 when ever you come back in from outside the country.

AND

Stamping in and out of Burma counts as another country even if you go back home to the same address afterwards
