Do I need to report 90 days if I've extended my visa due to COVID-19 and I'm on a short-term visa?

Went to MTT today and were in and out with no waiting and given 60 days extension. We also inquired about 90 day reporting at the 90 day Counter A on the 2nd floor.

We arrived on 45 day visa exemption.

Extended 30 days for tourism.

1st extension due to COVID-19 on June 21

Today was 2nd extension 

 We were given the 90 day report paperwork, but when reviewed, the officer informed us we do not need to report 90 days since we arrived on a short term visa. I asked about needing to report since it is almost 90 days since our first COVID extension. She said we only report if we change to Non-O visas or another long-term visa. Our extensions are equivalent to a report. 

I'm not sure if this will be the case for others, but thought it may be helpful for others in a similar situation.

Did you ask Counter A, or Counter K? Counter A is the counter that does the 90 day reports.
