Do I need to do a separate 90-day reporting if I get a COVID 60-day extension on my visa in Thailand?

Hi all, I arrived in Bangkok, Thailand (from USA) on January 2nd on a TR60 visa and later got the 30 days extension. Today, I got my covid under consideration stamp and will need to go back on April 8th to get the covid 60 day extension stamp.

I have a question regarding the 90 days reporting: my 90 days since arriving in Bangkok, Thailand will be on April 1st - does getting the covid 60 day extension stamp count as a 90 day reporting or do I need to do the 90 day reporting separately?

Thank you 🙏🏻

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether obtaining a COVID 60-day extension stamp will fulfill the requirement for 90-day reporting in Thailand, after arriving on a TR60 visa. Comments indicate that 90-day reporting may not apply to tourist visas, and one suggestion is to directly inquire at the immigration office during the visit for the stamp.

@Kevin ****
and when you go back to MTT on April 8th to close out your under consideration stamp ASK them about whether you do or don't do a 90 day report :)

will do and report back here =]

@Kevin ****
please do, because if they started requiring it, that would be a huge change of policy, but anything could happen after the end of March when current rules expire

@Br***
that 'no 90 day reporting no resident certificate' rule has messed up more than a few people here in Bangkok trying to get certificates of residence to get things done here :(

90 day report does not apply to tourist visa

Edward Jarvis do you have a copy. This is news

the tiny paper they staple in your passport looks like this

Rayong office want 90 day's I come to the office

it depends on the immigration office. Some require it if you’re in Thailand for more then 90 consecutive days, and other require it for long-term extension of stays greater than 90 days.

@Benjamin *****
he is using MTT so 90 day does not apply.

Hmm I find it hard that you've been here a year on covid extension seeing as they just started Nov 1st
@Br***
:)

Be that as it may, it seems it's starting to apply (at least haphazardly) to people who have gotten their second 60 day covid extension. Some offices are starting the 90 day counting when you are on an extension for the same reason LONGER than 90 days, meaning you wouldn't do it until you got the second covid extension putting you here on the same reason for your extension for more than 90 days.

It's a crap shoot though as far as if the officer will or won't give you the paper telling you when you do your first 90 day report. h

30 days exempt, 30 day extension, amnesty, applied for original embassy extension, that got a bonus 30 days for being a good boy and doing my papers, then 60 day covid extensions until now. Not a single 90 day report.

@Brian *********
and have you applied for and/or received your SECOND 60 day covid extension? amnesty, embassy letters, the free 30 days, were all issued for different reasons. It's only when you get the second 60 day covid extension for ข้อ 5 (clause 5) when I see people with the "your first 90 day report is xxx date" papers in their passports.

BUT

Again, it does seem hit or miss as far as what offices and even what individual officers in those offices do .

I guess my case is special? Because I had a TR60 + 30 days extension + 60 covid extension = 150 days. Because I’m here for more than 90 days, I was wondering if I had to do the 90 days reporting
Brian **********
@Kevin ****
not special. Been here a year on covid extensions via MTT, not a single 90 day report. I actually wish I could do one, because it would make residence certificates easier
Benjamin ******
Did you ask the immigration office? And what immigration office did you use?

Edward Jarvis Actually, I’m not sure the TM7 form submitted with the rest of the forms in my covid extension counts as a 90 day reporting.

**********************************************
says “The first application for extension of stay by the foreigner is equivalent to the notification of staying in the Kingdom over 90 days.”

I already got my first application for extension of stay when I got my Tourist visa 30 day extension

I’ll ask the immigration office to clarify on April 8th when I get my covid extension stamp

Edward Jarvis Got it, thanks man! You're right, I filled out a bunch of forms for the covid extension and one of them was the TM7.

"I was told to start counting the 90 days from the day I signed and submitted that TM7 and NOT the date stamp on my extension."

Noted, I didn't know this, thank you!

Edward Jarvis Got it, thank you! So I got my TM7 30 day tourist visa extension on Feb 25th so that means my next 90 days reporting will be on May 26th 🙏🏻

I wonder if the covid extension also counts as a 90 day reporting
