Do I need to do a 90-day report after extending my Covid Visa in Thailand?

Today, I extended my Covid Visa for the first time after 90 days - 60+30 tourist visa! I am informed by the officer that I don’t need to do 90-day report! Is that reliable as I’m concerned with the fine later on! He said I need to report only next time! Please kindly let me know if that is the case or normal! Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user extended their Covid Visa and was informed by an immigration officer that they do not need to do a 90-day report at the time of extension, prompting concerns about fines. Comments clarify that the officer likely meant that the 90-day reporting countdown starts from the extension date, and the first report would be due in 90 days. Some users mention inconsistency across immigration offices regarding 90-day reporting after Covid extensions.

I think you misunderstood what the officer was saying, They didn't mean that you never needed to do a 90 day report.

They meant that today, at the time you were at the immigration ofice you didn't need to and in fact put a paper in your passport that shows that today's visit started the 90 day count down clock and your first 90 day report would be due Dec 27th.

Counter A is indeed closed at Chaengwattana

To file a 90 day report you go to the Muang Thong Thani Immigration office <- they moved counter A, counter B and counter K out there on July 13, 2020

IF you were given that paper there is a date stamped on the bottom and if you're still IN thailand when that date comes around you need to file your 90 day report

What is the date stamped on the bottom of that slip?

you must do a 90 day report on December 27th. If you file in person, you can do it 15 days prior to 7 days after the due date. If you do it online, you can do it 15 days prior up to the due date.

THEN if your'e still here in thailand on that date you need to file your 90 day report. If you leave thailand between now and then you don't

my advice would be to ask Muang Thong Thani, Counter A, to confirm since they process the 90 day reports.

if the officer says you don't do one then you don't, BUT if you're going to get another covid extension after this one make sure you ask the officer AGAIN just to be safe.

some offices require people on visa/exempt/tourist visa entries who went to covid extensions to do 90 day reporting and some do not πŸ˜• There is no rhyme or reason that I can see
