What advice can you provide for applying for a DTV visa at the embassy in Ankara?

Hi all!

I am planning to apply for DTV and would appreciate your advice 😊

1. Does anyone have experience embassy in Ankara? I read a few posts here mentioning “name does not match” issue when application was declined.

Are there any additional documents they typically request aside of regular list?

2. I have had non-b visa before in Thailand. Until the first week of April, before I started my new job, might this be an issue? Do you suggest to explain and submit cover letter also?

3. What could be the proof of current location while being in home country?

Many thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on applying for a DTV visa from the embassy in Ankara, specifically regarding the 'name does not match' issue encountered by others, additional document requirements beyond the standard list, implications of having previously held a non-b visa, and acceptable proof of current location while in their home country. A commenter provided insights, suggesting that having an expired non-b visa should not pose a problem, recommended certain documents like utility bills and letters from employers as proof of current residence, and emphasized the importance of ensuring adequate support for the stay.

1. No experience of that location.

2. Do you have a non-b visa now? If it has already expired you will be fine.

3. Utility bill, bank statement or similar worked for me.

Other documents for me was additional proof of employment - letter from employer, also they wanted to see my boarding pass out of Thailand and my exit stamp.

I think the main thing is ensuring you can support your stay and you are actually in the country you are applying from.

Good luck
